The Deeds of Frederick Barbarossa: Book 1

Today we discuss Book One of the Deeds of Frederick Barbarossa by Otto of Freising. We perfect the Imperial system, cut a long story short (for real), introduce Aristotle to the cathedral schools, hunt heretics with St. Bernard, (almost) drown in Greece, and wonder if the real Crusade was the battle to become a better person.
