Lawmakers didn’t waste time this session scheduling the first hearing on bills to raise the minimum wage in Hawaiʻi. The federal government raised its minimum for federal workers to $15 as of Sunday. Proponents of raising the minimum argue a hike is past due. It has been held at $10.10 for the last four years.
