Hey Parent Peeps!

It’s deep dive time! For our Q as in Cucumber listeners, Tanya and I will be back soon with new episodes of our own. Sorry, we have been AWOL for a little bit. In the meantime, enjoy this bonus episode from our sister show, The Parent Memoirs.

This week Jessica and I dive headfirst into one of the most bonkers cases I have ever heard. As I am true crime obsessed, I am a little shocked I had never heard of this one before. While looking for our next deep dive I came across the amazing Bailey Sarian and her Murder Mystery and Makeup series on YouTube. She told this story, and I was hooked (on her channel and this story). I watched the documentary special from 7News and then read the book about it by one of the journalists. Buckle-up buttercups!

When Leonard Warwick found out that his wife Andrea Blanchard had petitioned for full custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Trudie, in their 1979 divorce petition, he was angry. When the justice overseeing the case awarded Andrea full custody temporarily until the details of the divorce were worked out, he was enraged. When Andreas little brother tried to talk some sense into him one day when he violated the justice’s orders and kept Trudie for longer than his visitation allowed, he snapped.

On February 22nd, 1980, the first loss of life in this story would occur. It would not be the last. The court and the country were gripped with fear and confusion for 5 long years. Was the court the actual target? Or was it these victims personally? Was it all the work of the same psychopath? Or was it copycats? How long would this go on? Who would be next?

It would take 40 years to answer all those questions. Check out part one of our Australian Family Court Attacks Series! Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss the conclusion!

If you or someone you know is the victim of domestic abuse, please know that you are not alone. There is hope and there are organizations that can help. Visit <a href='https://www.theh
