Team Triangle_Pt 6

<p>Saturday 21st November 2020</p> <p>Lovely Saturday to you in the Name of Jesus.</p> <p>We thank God for today, we are still talking about The Team Triangle; the power of mentorship, being a mate and being a mentee or protégé.</p> <p>Today, we want to focus on the protégé (How you can maximise the place of a protégé). A lot of people look down on being anyone’s protégé or mentee, rather they want to be a mentor or mate. But that is not the way it is. Everyone starts from childhood and grows up into adulthood.</p> <p>Jesus said this about the position of a protégé in Matthew 10: 25 (ESV)</p> <p>25 it is enough for the disciple to be like the teacher, and the slave like the master…</p> <p>What is Jesus saying here?</p> <p>He is saying the future of every mentee and protégé is to be like his mentor i.e. you have a right if you are serving and honouring your mentor as a mentee, you have a right to everything your mentor or master carries.</p> <p>In Exodus 24: 13 the bible calls Joshua, Moses servant or assistant. And again, if you read in 2 Kings 3: 11, it says Elisha was the assistant of Elijah. In fact, another version says that Elisha was the one that poured water on the hands of Elijah (i.e. Elisha served Elijah).</p> <p>So, who took over from Moses? It was Joshua!</p> <p>Who took over from Elijah? It was Elisha.</p> <p>In fact, the day that Elijah was taken to heaven, Elisha and his colleagues (mates) all knew he was going but Elisha served Elijah till the end; he followed him all the way, not because he was a perfect master. Elijah was brash, but Elisha said “…nothing will separate me from you.” And when Elijah was taken up, Elisha mates saw him and said “the spirit of Elijah now rests on Elisha. Now guess, what; they bowed themselves to him.</p> <p>Every protégé, every mentee today has a right to the grace, has a right to the abilities, has a right to whatever his/her mentor carries. The bible says that “the lesser is blessed by the greater.” When you know how to work with your mentor, not because he/she is
