
Task force shuts down five filling stations in Jigawa

<p>The Jigawa State Task Force on Petroleum products has shut down five filling stations for tampering with their metres and engaging in some activities to shortchange customers.</p>, <p>The Taskforce Chairman, Colonel Muhammad Alhassan (Rtd) stated this while briefing newsmen after inspecting some filling stations at Kiyawa, Gumel, and Jahun local government areas.</p>, <p>He said the inspection is to check the activities of the filling stations to ensure they abide by the laid down rules.</p>, <p>Alhassan explained that the Taskforce has warned more than thirty (30) filling stations and shut down five (5) for engaging in dubious activities.</p>, <p>“Some of the filling stations do not have Sarafin Gauge and do not have standard measuring gauge to enable them to know the functionality of their pumps,” he said.</p>, <p>He said the committee will continue to inspect other filling stations and expose any filling station found to be engaged in tampering with metres to shortchange customers.</p>, <p>He noted that no filling station would be spared if found wanting.</p>
