Talking Sport: Preview of the Laois hurling championships

<p>It's an episode of the Talking Sport Podcast that we didn't think we'd get to produce this year: our preview of the Laois club hurling championships. </p> <p>Ahead of the start of all competitions, presenter Steven Miller is joined by Alan Hartnett to look ahead to the top three grades in Laois in a season like no other. </p> <p>There will be games broadcast live on TV, all games are all ticket and there's a fear that a Coronavirus case somewhere could throw it all into disarray. </p> <p>But the show goes on. </p> <p>Can Rathdowney-Errill win a seventh senior championship and put titles back to back for the first time?</p> <p>Can Camross win a third in four years? With no form to go on, Alan plumps for Camross to win the senior, Steven sort of sits on the fence and reckons Clough-Ballacolla are worth a shot at 5/1. </p> <p>And what of the newly-named Premier Intermediate? Will Portlaoise continue to yo-yo? Will The Harps make it fourth time lucky, will Ballyfin win it out again and what of Laois's newest club Colt-Shanahoe?</p> <p>And in the third tier - the intermediate grade - the lads show a bit of bias in wanting to see a first team win it out. </p> <p>But are any of Mountmellick, Trumera, Clonad, Ballypickas or Park-Ratheniska/Timahoe strong enough to do so?</p> <p>The lads also ponder the new structure, which should make the games more competitive. </p> <p>With a huge programme of games to look forward to and tour of the county coming up - with a real hipster hurling schedule - they'll be back to reflect on the action early next week. </p>
