This week we are getting behind the mic with Dr. Stephany Giraldo, DO, MPH. She is a first-generation Latinx primary care physician. Dr. Giraldo is an advocate for diversity in medicine & public health. Currently, she is working on several projects that aim to increase health equity and positively impact non-English speakers, one of which involves community members sharing their cultural beliefs and practices with providers. Dr. Stephany’s parents immigrated from Colombia. She speaks about her journey as a new doctor and experience as the first in her family to attend college and go into medicine. Moreover, she speaks about her experience working as a Doctor with Autoimmune arthritis. She is a huge advocate for preventative care, mental wellness, and compassionate healthcare.
