St. John Henry Newman - Omnipotence in Bonds

We must know Him by His names, Emmanuel and Jesus, to know Him perfectly.</span>"</em></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><em>Omnipotence in Bonds</em> is one of the most celebrated sermons by St. John Henry Newman,</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">first preached on the Sunday after Epiphany in 1857, the first year of the University Church, Dublin.</span></p> <p>Newman meditates on the Incarnation, by which God makes Himself subject to His creatures — even before Christ's Nativity, and even after His Crucifixion.
