While people debate the political, economic and military landscape, we wanted to hear what the war is doing to individuals and families. We see the destruction, the tanks and the helicopters on screen, but we wanted to see the human face; without the hype and entertainment imperative of the broadcast world. I then ask about my dad.</p> <p>I then call my Auntie and Uncle to see if they are alive.</p> <p>This is how millions of people live right now. Hoping for life.</p> <p>The Russians invaded Ukraine in 1930-1933, committing genocide</p> <p>Millions of Ukrainian people were starved to death.</p> <p>Our soil is stained with the blood of our people.</p> <p>In 1941-1945 the Nazis killed millions more of ethnic Ukrainians.</p> <p>We were brain washed to think that Western Civilization was our enemy. All they wanted was to conquer us.</p> <p>When I graduated from the University, I wanted to explore the world.</p> <p>In the back of my mind, I wanted to prove my dad wrong.</p> <p>In England, I started my own business, I could not do that back home in Ukraine.
