This can be anything from Abigail Adams’ <a href="https://www.masshist.org/object-of-the-month/objects/abigail-adams-pocket-2009-12-01" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">pocket</a> to an interview with a family member about their protest sign to an old campaign button. It’s the ‘thing’ that rings that civic participation bell for you, and helps you to understand a moment, a political movement, a complicated element of our government, or your rights.</p>
