South Sudan in Focus: A South Sudanese chief was shot dead today in fresh inter-communal violence in Nimule town of Eastern Equatoria State; President Salva Kiir has ordered the suspension of a project to dredge River Naam and other tributaries of the Nile until an environmental study is done on the matter; South Sudanese refugees living in Sudan say they have not been able to celebrate their country’s independence day for the last eight years.
