Shoreline Bugs and Lake Health

<p>It turns out that the presence of tiny creatures making their homes at the water’s edge can tell us a lot about water quality and the health of adjacent shorelines. And, as we know healthy shorelines are essential to the water quality of Haliburton’s incredible lakes, streams and wetlands.</p> <p>Recently, The U-links Centre for Community Based Research, headquartered in Minden, partnered with six Lake Associations across Haliburton County to study shoreline aquatic invertebrate populations.
