Sexually Explicit Dress In Canada’s Schools and Municipal Governance, with Fritz Radandt & Andrew De

<p>Recently, the City of Oakville in Ontario gained international attention when students from a high school there posted pictures of a shop teacher wearing oversized prosthetics breasts under a tight-fitted shirt in class. This is the most recent high-profile instance in the ongoing conversation about what is appropriate in school classrooms, and at what age. <br><br>When questioned on the situation, the Halton District School Board released a statement that they ensure a safe and inclusive environment, and that gender identity and expression are protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code. In response, a group of concerned citizens, including parents and grandparents, rallied at a nearby school to raise awareness on the issue. <br><br>The Oakville scenario, though definitely out of the norm, highlights a growing concern from some parents nationwide about what’s happening in some public schools.
