Abdullah ibn Masood (ra) Session 49 Ibn Ummi Abd - The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Ibn Masood (ra) himself states 'There is no verse from the Quran except that I know whom it was revealed for and where it as sent down' (Bukhari). Ibn Masood (ra) would recite a Surah and spend the rest of the day in its interpretation (Ibn Jareer). Imam Nawawee (rah) states, Ibn Masood (ra) was even more knowledgeable in the Quran than the Caliphate Rashideen (Sharh Saheeh Muslim). Verily the Quran is a banquet of Allah SWT thus take as much as you can from the Banquet (Hakim). Imam Qurtubi (rah), elucidates... The Banquet is a metaphor... The Quran is likend to something that Allah SWT has prepared for mankind and has numerous benefits within it.
