Scott Specht

<p><strong>Scott Specht&nbsp;</strong>is founder and principal of internationally acclaimed Specht Architects, inventor of the self-sufficient zeroHouse™, and a frequent speaker on where things are headed (and where they’ve been) in the world of architecture, design, and engineering.&nbsp;He has been featured at conferences and on video presentations sponsored by such hosts as TEDx Talks, Dyson, Indeed, the American Institute of Architects, and The University of Texas at Austin.&nbsp;</p><br><p>Scott has received numerous awards for his work from organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, The Architectural League of New York, and Architectural Record.&nbsp;He has been featured in the&nbsp;<em>Wall Street Journal</em>, the&nbsp;<em>New York Times</em>,&nbsp;<em>The New Yorker, Architectural Digest</em>, and hundreds of other publications.&nbsp;His firm was listed frequently in the “Top 100” architects by&nbsp;<em>New York</em>&nbsp;magazine, and his most recent book,&nbsp;<em>Coffee Lids</em>, has received acclaim for its unusual take on the design of “unseen objects” that populate our daily lives.</p><br><p>Specht Architects’ work includes residential, commercial and university-based projects, including the The Carpenter, an environmentally sustainable adaptive re-use of a former Carpenter’s Union complex, and&nbsp;Casa Xixim, a completely off-the-grid bio-resort in Tulum.&nbsp;The zeroHouse™, a high-performance, self-sufficient house established Specht as an international design leader in the micro-dwelling movement.&nbsp;Prior to his work at Specht Architects, Scott was a consulting designer for Studio Daniel Libeskind in Berlin, and worked with that firm on its winning New York World Trade Center planning competition scheme.&nbsp;Scott was also a designer with Deborah Berke Architect, and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, both in New York.</p><br /><hr><p style='color:grey; font-size:0.75em;'> See <a style='color:grey;' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer' href='https://acast.com/privacy'>aca
