<p><strong>Wednesday 21st July</strong></p> <p>The Supernatural Today 9</p> <p>There is nothing new under the Sun, everything that is happening today has happened before, it might just be in a different form.</p> <p>The tension between science, scripture and the supernatural has been on even in the Bible days, different societies had their beliefs about science and the supernatural. This tension was clearly seen in the Greek and Jewish communities. Apostle Paul was a trained Pharisee before his conversion, to be a Pharisee was like being a doctor of the Jewish law. Paul was vast in knowledge both in the ways of the Jews and in the beliefs of the Greeks. The Jews believed in the supernatural but the Greeks believed in logic, physical evidence. He alluded to this tension in 1 Cor. 1:21-24 (NLT)</p> <p>God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. 22 It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. 23 So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense. 24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.</p> <p>The Jews had their background in the supernatural works of God. They are the custodians of the oracles of God. Their forefathers witness great supernatural signs and wonders that God did amongst them so it was part of their heritage. The Greeks on the other hand want a logical explanation and physical evidence for everything before they believed. But Paul made them understand that these two positions did not have to conflict because they both have their roots in Christ.</p> <p>In Christ, there is a strong ground for the wisdom and the principles of science and there is a place for the demonstration of the power of God with supernatural signs and wonders. In reality, Christ is a confluence of science and the supernatural, of wisd
