<p>Science, Scriptures and the Supernatural. </p> <p> </p> <p>Monday 19 July</p> <p> </p> <p>This week we are talking about the place of science, scriptures and the supernatural.</p> <p>There is the erroneous belief that science, scriptures and the supernatural don’t agree. Some believe if you really believe in science, you cannot believe the account of scripture and the supernatural but that is not true.</p> <p><br></p> <p>Bible verses like 1 Tim 6:20, KJV</p> <p><br></p> <p>O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:</p> <p><br></p> <p>Have been misinterpreted to mean science is in opposition to scripture, which is not true. A more accurate interpretation of this verse of scripture can be seen in The Living Bible translation of the same scripture which says;</p> <p> </p> <p>Oh, Timothy, don’t fail to do these things that God entrusted to you. Keep out of foolish arguments with those who boast of their “knowledge” and thus prove their lack of it.</p> <p> </p> <p>Professor Allen J. Dunckley, author of the book, "Scripture and Science: Conflict or Confirmation? Gave detailed scientific evidence to show that science actually confirms scriptures and is not contradictory to it.</p> <p> </p> <p>Dr. Henry Morris in his book, “Men of Science, Men of God” a biographical account and testimonies of 101 Christian scientists who believe the Bible and its account of God's creation, disprove the lie that a true scientist cannot simultaneously be a true man or woman of God. This compilation of Christian scientist is from the 15th century to the 20th century, some of the notable Christians in this book can be called founding fathers of different areas in science and they were also very strong Christians.
