Rita McInerney On Co - Option To Clare County Council

An incoming West Clare councillor says the improvement of improving rural broadband connectivity will be one of her chief aims while serving on the local authority. Former Ennis Chamber CEO Rita McInerney has been selected by a Fianna Fáil convention to be co-opted onto Clare County Council, after receiving a tally of 40 votes. The Doonbeg native, who also runs McInerney's Shop in the popular tourist village, will be filling the seat vacated by Councillor Bill Chambers, who announced his resignation from politics last month. The 2024 Fianna Fáil Local Election candidate says that having strong broadband connectivity not only improves quality of life, but enables people to work from home and makes local businesses more competitive.
