Righteousness of God Revealed

Romans 1:16-17 — In Romans 1:16–17, Paul offers several reasons for not being ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In “Righteousness of God Revealed,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones preaches how the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. On their own merit, people are incapable of meeting God’s demands to gain his approval and only Christ’s righteousness can satisfy. The Christian, however, can rejoice because in Christ they stand righteous. His sacrifice has made Christians free from punishment and delivered them from the condemnation of the law. This is why Paul was ready to preach to all people at all times. Through his Son, God provides this righteousness. The Son’s actions change the Christian’s account to one of righteousness because He has submitted the ultimate payment for their sin. The gospel also shows how the righteousness becomes the Christian’s by faith.
