Description
The co-hosts and Bill Weinberg, noted journalist and anarchist podcaster, discuss Noam Chomsky’s statements about Putin’s war against Ukraine, as well as his ideology and other political activity. They take up Weinberg’s “Against Chomsky” podcast, interviews of Chomsky about the war, and the open letter to Chomsky from his Ukrainian translator. Weinberg provides a synopsis of Chomsky’s political interventions during the last 45 years. He and the co-hosts also discuss whether Chomsky’s top-down orientation to world affairs has anything in common with anarchism or Marxism. Finally, they discuss logic and ethics of the so-called “Chomsky rule,” and the sources of its appeal. Plus current-events segment: “SCOTUS Abrogates Right to Abortion and …?”: on Alito’s draft decision eliminating the Constitutional protection against forced childbirth and its implications for our remaining rights. <
