Requiring Liability Insurance

<p>In this 55th episode of We Are TPM, John and Kyle discuss requiring liability insurance</p><p>as a tenant. Liability insurance is an important way to protect people from being liable</p><p>for something in a society that is becoming increasingly litigious. It is insurance for a</p><p>person's liability to the landlord, but it does not cover all liabilities, such as rent. It is an</p><p>important way to reduce risk for landlords and tenants, and is a necessary part of the</p><p>industry.</p><p>The conversation is about why it is important for tenants to have liability to landlord</p><p>insurance when renting a property. Property managers often require it as a minimum</p><p>coverage, and the conversation gives an example of why it is necessary for tenants to</p><p>have this insurance. One example is of a tenant who caused a fire in the kitchen, and</p><p>the insurance would cover the cost of the repairs to the landlord.
