In 1979, I remember when I first heard Dionne Warwick's song, Deja Vu.
(Singing)

There was something about piano and violins and strings in the music of a song that always got my attention. And there was something about the way Dionne Warwick would sing. ...

I guess I was about 8 years old when I heard the song. Dionne made me feel the expression of the song. I didn't even know the meaning of the song. I didn't even know the meaning of the word Deja Vu. Not knowing that I experienced some Deja Vu in my childhood. Back then, I didn't particularly like the song, but it became a part of me.

The tune of Deja Vu was written by Isaac Hayes. Adrienne Anderson wrote the words. It was a hit in 1979. Dionne Warwick won the Grammy for best Female R&B vocal performance for Deja Vu.

The more I would listen to Dionne Warwick sing that song, the more beautiful it became to me with learning the meaning of the song. The song means simply what it's lyrics are saying.
Feeling love like I use to know
Long Ago
Deja Vu
Meaning, she already had experienced it from before. I'm Gail Nobles, and you're listening to Postgirl's Recordings.
