Really Heats Up Today & Over The Weekend; Dry & Breezy Conditions Elevate Fire Concerns; Cooler Storm Chances Return Mon/Tue

<p>Today the upper-level ridge strengthens over the area with a weak wave of energy moving of the Rockies in the afternoon and evening that could fire some isolated storms while highs top in the lower 90’s.  Over the weekend the upper-level ridge amplifies over the Southern and Great Plains with increasingly dry, warm, and breezy conditions with high in the upper 90’s and low 100’s with elevated drought and fire concerns.  Monday and Tuesday an upper-level trough will move over the Rockies from the northwest flattening the ridge over the area and push a cool front and disturbances through the area bringing back the late afternoon and evening storm chances and lowering temps into upper 80’s and low 90’s.  </p>
