Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). If we love God, like Jesus told us to, we WILL respect His Holy Name and keep His commandments! Jesus is very clear that if we love Him, we would do what He tells us to do - because it leads to eternal life! So out of respect and love, will do it! Jesus taught His disciples HOW to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. He gave them a model prayer of what to pray for and how to pray. The Lord's prayer is NOT some magic incantation or prayer to memorize and repeat just for the sake of it, but a model. And the first thing He told us to pray, was this phrase: “Hallowed be thy name.” 📌 The word hallow means “to sanctify, to make holy.” The phrase literally means “Sanctify the name” or “Make holy the name.” It is a call for us to worship. Jesus was telling us to lift up the greatness of God’s Name in prayer. ONE THING YOU HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT OUR GOD, IS THAT HE WANTS HIS NAME TO BE LIFTED UP IN ALL OF THE EARTH! AMEN!
