The show uses ghosts, the supernatural, and other tropes of gothic storytelling to examine the fallibility of memory, building community and family, and being queer in the rural Midwest. Unwell is a slow-burn mystery, with occasional moments of more traditional horror. There are content warnings and transcripts available for every episode.
