Pre-season observations, transfer talk and contract dilemmas

<p>Following the summer break Luke, James and Max are back to talk all things Liverpool as the Anfield Central Podcast builds up to the start of another busy season.</p><br><p>Despite the lack of action, there’s plenty to discuss and the guys begin by looking at Gini Wijnaldum’s comments regarding social media abuse from Liverpool fans. From here we move onto the worrying news about the skipper, Jordan Henderson’s, contract situation and ponder whether he really could follow Wijnaldum out of the club.</p><br><p>In more positive news we also focus on the bright start Ibrahima Konate has made to life at Liverpool, and whether he is likely to start the season alongside Joel Matip after Van Dijk and Gomez’s respective injuries.&nbsp;</p><br><p>Of course, we also debate transfers both in and out. Transfer gossip is always the favourite pastime of football fans in the absence of any action, and we’re no different. We chat about the difficulties in shifting some of the club’s fringe players, as well as whether the club’s currently full non-homegrown quota could prove to be a stumbling block in any potential moves.</p><br><p>We also got suitably excited about the emergence of Harvey Elliot, and predictably pessimistic regarding the likelihood of Naby Keita featuring for the Reds.
