<p>Popular Kano singer, Magajiya Dambata is dead.</p>, <p>She died at the age of 86 on Friday evening after a brief illness at her home in Dambatta, Kano State.</p>, <p>Dambatta rose to stardom in the 1970s to 1980s.</p>, <p>Late Dambatta’s songs highlighted the importance of education, good moral values, social vices and child upbringing.</p>, <p>Sometimes in 2019, the renowned singer, who has since gone blind was seen begging for alms to survive at Makoda village in Kano where she lived.</p>, <p>Thereafter, a public fund was set up for her upkeep and renovation of her house after she was found struggling to maintain a good life in Kano.</p>
