<p style="text-align:center;">Podcast listeners Vote but remember that GOD is in control</p> <p style="text-align:center;"></p> <p>I wanted to take this opportunity to encourage you to vote during this upcoming election.</p> <p>It seems like every time there is a National Election such as the one we are facing, words such as this are used to describe the importance of voting; “this is the most important election of our lifetime”.  Well, I believe each election is indeed the most important one up to that point!</p> <p>We all tend to have our political leanings that may guide us to vote for one party or another, or even have a leaning towards a candidate who would describe themselves as independent.  Yet, with all of that, let me remind you that as Christians, our thought should hardly be limited to the party we are part of now, or have been for years.</p> <p>In every election, there are people running for office that don't even claim to be Christian, so we can't walk into a voting booth with the mindset that we “are only going to vote for Christians”!</p> <p>I would remind you that while the Church is separate from the Government in many ways, we still reap the benefits and rewards, and yes at times, difficulties that arise from decisions made in the halls of Congress and the White House, and of course, the Supreme Court.</p> <p>It is our contention that it is the duty and responsibility of every Christian to vote and to vote for leaders who promote Christian principles. God is most certainly in control, but that does not mean we should do nothing to further His will. We are commanded to pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-4). In terms of politics and leadership, there is evidence in Scripture that God has been displeased with our choices of leadership at times (Hosea 8:4). The evidence of sin’s grip on this world is everywhere. Much of the suffering on earth is because of godless leadership (Proverbs 28:12).
