Description

With International Women's Day coming up and Women's History Month, we are honored to speak to Samnang Chea. Samnang Chea is a Clinical Psychologist and Therapist Facilitator and Curriculum Designer. She has lectured at the Department of Social Work at the Royal University of Phnom Penh and is also a Senior Advisor at the Cambodian Ministry of Women Affairs. She is a well respected individual who has dedicated her work in human development and helping manage emotional obstacles with those she guides towards success. Samnang and Thay PichMony discuss parenting and child development (anti social issue, anxiety issue, anger management, autism and down syndrome). Significant mental health problems can and do occur in young children. Children can show clear characteristics of anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorder, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, and neurodevelopmental disabilities, such as autism, at a very early age. That said, young children respond to and process emotional experiences and traumatic events in ways that are very different from adults and older children. Consequently, diagnosis in early childhood can be much more difficult than it is in adults.
Taking a mental health screening is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition.

Mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety, are real, common and treatable.
