FATTOAPPOSTA PODCAST #88 - mixed by BRANDO - For the 88th episode we invite Brando - DJ as BRANDO, electro-acoustic sound hacker as @akousmatikoi . Brando Calmonte is an Italian sound hacker, vinyl defender, DJ & music producer as BRANDO, live electronics performer, and sound designer as Akousmatikoi. His musical career began at a young age, approaching the study of instruments such as electric guitar and classical piano. In these years of important artistic maturation he has been able to acquire the elements that form the basis of his musical concept, absorbing the influence of Rhythm & Blues, Funk & Soul and those sounds typical of Metal distortions. He is currently based between Bassano Del Grappa and Berlin, where in 2019 he achieved Electronic Music Production & Performance Degree with first class honours at Dbs Music Berlin. The Berlin period has immersed the artist in a musically dynamic and effervescent context, allowing him the opportunity to focus on the search for his own personal taste with which to give sound to his artistic personality. The manipulation and synthesis of individual sounds are the protagonists of Akousmatikoi's musical expression that distinguishes his evolving identity. Organic elements mixed with the surreal magic of sound engineering techniques are the characteristic elements of Brando's sounds; his production focuses mainly on electroacoustic music, the audio-visual interrelation and original score for dance performances and fashion catwalk. His artistic collaborations with numerous artists have allowed him to blend his music with other artistic disciplines such as the architecture of Klemens Sitzmann and the music for Shibari rope master Marika Leila Roux. Among his latest works there is the sound design for Moncler at Fashion Week in Milan 2019 with the art directors Patrick Kinmonth, Antonio Monfreda and Lorenzo Ambrogio. In 2020 Black Angus Records is proud to present ‘Beautiful Ghost’ an Ep by Brando. Although a newcomer, Brando Calmonte is already known in Berlin and Italy
