We began in 1988 to address community concerns about the proposed transportation of</p> <p>plutonium contaminated hazardous waste from Los Alamos National Laboratory, or LANL, to the proposed Waste Isolation Pilot Plant, or WIPP, for disposal in&nbsp;</p> <p>the deep geologic repository.
