Pastor who stole chemicals jailed for 2 years

<p>An Akure Magistrate Court has sentenced a cleric, Friday Okeneji, to two years in prison for stealing chemical substances worth N130,000.</p>, <p>Okeneji was convicted on two counts of breaking and entering and theft by Magistrate Damilola Sekoni.</p>, <p>The convict was given the option of paying a N100, 000 fine by the magistrate.</p>, <p>Sekoni, who encouraged the convict to turn a new leaf, advised him to imbibe the true Christian characteristics of hard work and prayerfulness as exemplified by New Testament Christians in the Bible.</p>, <p>The convict, who pleaded guilty, explained that he had no source of income and needed to raise N150,000 for his mother’s burial in August.</p>, <p>The convict, a presiding pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Iwaro Oka Akoko, Ondo State, committed the crime on July 2, according to the police.</p>
