Reeves, Ed.D - a longtime teacher and school principal, and the father of three children - and his guests, as they discuss the world of parenting your children, from birth through age 100! On today's show, in addition to reading the chapter, "Family Frisbee Lesson" from his book, sharing wisdom from others, and a bit of humor, Paul played Part 1 of his interview with ELAINE BELSON. ELAINE BELLSON, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, will join us to discuss all that she does to help children, teens, parents, and families. We will also discuss her podcast, "It's More Complicated Than You Think". FROM HER BIO: I've been a clinical social worker for 30 years, including the Army which I joined at the age of 42. I've had my own practice for the last 12yrs, but have worked in hospitals, outpatient clinics and combat zones. Changing minds takes more than information and reason. It takes insight, problem-solving and coping skills. I use a lot of analogies, idioms and 3-step strategies (I call mantras) that are relatable and useful. I have expertise in the following topics: anger management, anxiety, coping with chronic pain, depression, domestic violence, eating disorders, grief/loss, low self-esteem, parenting, relationships, stress, substance abuse, trauma, women's issues, and work issues. I've provided trauma services for Hurricane Katrina, 9/11, bank robberies and military deployment.
