Oyo civil servant bags one year jail term over fraud

<p>A civil servant in Oyo State, Ronke Mary Adeleke, has bagged a year imprisonment for official corruption.</p>, <p>Adeleke works with Oyo State Ministry of Lands.</p>, <p>She was convicted by the Chief Magistrate Court 1, Iwo Road Ibadan.</p>, <p>The court was presided over by Magistrate Taiwo Oladiran on Friday.</p>, <p>DAILY POST reports that the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA) secured the conviction of Adeleke.</p>, <p>The commissioner had earlier investigated a case submitted against the accused by a victim from whom she dubiously collected the sum of Six Hundred Thousand Naira (N600,000.00).</p>, <p>The court on Friday, also ordered that the convict refund the said money to the victim within a month.</p>, <p>Adeleke has since been handed over to the officers of the Nigerian Correctional Services.</p>
