Ongoing cult clash claims two more lives in Osun

<p>Two suspected cultists have reportedly been gunned down in an alleged reprisal attack in Ilesa town.</p>, <p>According to information available to DAILY POST, the duo were gunned down by suspected members of a rival cult group at Sabo, Irojo Junction, Ilesa at about 2pm on Tuesday.</p>, <p>The shooting was linked to the killing of two suspected cultists at a beer parlour on Sunday.</p>, <p>A journalist, Sodiq Lawal said the deceased were suspected to be cult members.</p>, <p>“Their bodies were picked up along the Ilesa/Akure expressway by the police this afternoon. We all ran for cover when we heard noise from the scene.</p>, <p>“The killing is a continuation of inter-cult rivalry going on Ilesa area in the last three days. Policemen took the bodies of the deceased away in their vehicle.”</p>, <p>Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident, said more men had been deployed to Ilesa to halt the current spate of killings in the town.</p>, <p>“More men have been deployed to the community but you know police operatives can’t be everywhere.</p>, <p>“Two men were killed today again but we are not relenting.</p>, <p>“Perpetrators of the crime won’t escape justice,” Opalola said.</p>, <p>DAILY POST had earlier reported that two suspected cultists were gunned down by a gang on Sunday.</p>
