One Water Race Recap: Part III w/Bend Racing

<p>Welcome to episode 147 of the<a href="https://lowtideboyz.com/"> Löw Tide Böyz - A Swimrun Podcast!</a></p><p>On this week’s show we have the third installment of our four-part series recapping the inaugural <a href="https://onewaterrace.com/">One Water Race</a>. Joining us on this episode is the entire <a href="https://onewaterrace.com/teams/team-no-3-usa/">Team 3 - USA</a>, A.K.A. Bend Racing. We’ve never had so many people on one podcast and we’re here for it! Joining us are team captain Jason Magness, Tim Gorbold, Renee Metivier and Chris Wright. Folks in adventure racing circles are certainly familiar with Bend Racing and it was great to chat with them about their race experience.</p><p>But first...</p><p>Training Update</p><p>Our 2022 Swimrun season is almost over but not before going out with a bang and a couple of Yeehaws! at <a href="https://www.odysseyswimrun.com/austin">Ödyssey Swimrun Austin</a> in two weeks. We will be doing some “training” but mostly trying to keep things steady until race day. </p><p>Shoutouts</p><p>Our shoutout this week goes to friend of the pod and previous guest <a href="https://lowtideboyz.com/podcast/team-we-be-family">Rick Mann</a>. He recently suffered a heart attack during a training ride a few weeks ago. Our thoughts are with him and his family as he continues to recover…which appears to be going great since he’s already crushing monster swims in the Atlantic Ocean like he used to. </p><p>Feats of Endurance</p><p>This week’s winner is Glenn Wilko. He finished second in the <a href="https://arworldseries.com/oceania/">Oceania Adventure Race</a> on the Gold Coast of Australia over the weekend and it definitely looked like a feat of endurance. It took him (and his team) 25.5 hours to complete the 114 mile course with over 19,000ft. of elevation gain. Strong work!</p><p>Bonus shoutout to our friend Danny “Da Monster” Dvinov for finishing in 12th overall (out of 2,900 participants) at <a href="https://www.ironman.com/im-california">Ironman California</a>.
