The unrepentant will stand in final sentencing before Him at the Great White Throne to give accounting of those things recorded in the "books." The righteous will stand to receive rewards as faithful servants of Christ, while on the earth, at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Revelation 20:12 tells us, "And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged according to what they had done as written in the books [that is, everything done while on earth]." All throughout Scripture, it tells us that when Christ returns, "For the Son of Man will come in His Father's glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done" (Matthew 16:27). And again, Revelation 11:18, "And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth." The Lord is saying that when He returns, His reward will be with Him; and will give to every man according to his deeds. For He "searches the heart and examines the mind to reward a man according to his way, by what his deeds deserve" (see Jeremiah 17:9-10). Therefore, how are we ought to live before then, knowing this Day is fastly approaching; it will hasten and not delay? 13 "So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control.
