<p>Nigerian singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has revealed that iconic singer and rapper, Olamide inspired him.</p>, <p>Sharing a video of himself freestyling via Snapchat recently, the ‘Cheche’ crooner said Olamide inspired how he writes his music.</p>, <p>While acknowledging the YBNL boss’s influence in his penmanship, the former DMW signee said Baddo made him understand that good songwriting doesn’t necessarily have to be in English language.</p>, <p>He captioned the video, “Na Baddo Olamide make me know say pen game no be by English o! IYKVK.”</p>, <p>DAILY POST recalls that Mayorkun came into the spotlight in 2016 after he released a cover of Davido’s ‘The Money’ single which featured Olamide and was discovered by the singer on X (formerly Twitter).</p>, <p>Davido signed him to his record label, DMW where he released his debut single, ‘Eleko’ and became an instant star.</p>, <p>Two years later, he won the highly coveted Next Rated category at The Headies which solidified his stardom.</p>, <p>In 2021, Mayorkun parted ways with Davido Music Worldwide, DMW.</p>
