<p>The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board wants clubs to sensitise their players on the need to shun banned substances.</p>, <p>The NPFL announced on Monday that it is introducing random tests for players to curb the use of banned drugs.</p>, <p>The league body has already acquired testing kits from the United Kingdom to make the exercise a success.</p>, <p>According to the NPFL Chief Operating Officer, the clubs have already been notified and have been served with two weeks notice for the commencement of doping tests.</p>, <p>“There’s an ongoing training of personnel on the use of these doping test kits,” Owumi was quoted by the NPFL media</p>, <p>“So players have the next two weeks to detoxify themselves to get rid of any illicit substance in their system.</p>, <p>“Those who fail the tests will be subjected to the full applicable sanctions.”</p>, <p>The 2023/24 NPFL season started last weekend.</p>, <p>Matchday two games will be played this weekend.</p>
