<p>Wednesday 16th June </p> <p> </p> <p>No Joy, No Victory 3</p> <p> </p> <p>Some people look at life and wonder what is there to be joyful about? Afterall, things are not working as well as they should. “I do not have a job, no spouse, no money and so on. Jesus said in Matthew 25:29,” …to everyone who has, more will be given and he will have abundance; but to him who has not, even what he has will be taken away…” It is a principle of life that once you acknowledge what you have, more will follow. When you don’t appreciate God for what you have because you claim it is little, even that little will be taken away.</p> <p> </p> <p>Deuteronomy 28:47-48 (NKJV), 47 “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is a tough one.</p> <p>With all that God did for the Israelites during their 40 years sojourn in the wilderness; feeding, clothing and protecting them besides freeing them from 430 years of slavery yet they murmured and complained. They chose not to remember what God had done for them in the past. They worshipped God out of a sense of duty and drudgery not with joy and excitement. The result of their ingratitude was heavy, God said, “…since it is difficult for you to serve Me in spite of all I have done for you, I would allow your enemies to oppress and victimize you. You would serve them in hunger, lack, nakedness and in want of the basic things of life.” This is what their life of ingratitude brought upon them.</p> <p> </p> <p>Joy is a choice that we must make every single day.
