NNPP State Chairmen Forum alleges illegal moves to hijack party, amend constitution

<p>The Forum of State Chairmen of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has raised alarm over what it described as desperate moves by what it called the illegal National Working Committee of the party to amend, for the third time in six months, the constitution of the party.</p>, <p>The Forum said the latest plan was aimed at deleting relevant articles in the constitution of the party to whittle down powers of the BoT Chairman as a result of his uncompromising stand never to allow injustice take a root in the party.</p>, <p>This is even as the group has said that the National Working Committee of the party has proven that it could no longer administer the party to success, alleging that the NWC has compromised its positions, integrity and vision upon which the party was founded.</p>, <p>In a statement issued on Sunday by the Spokesperson for the Forum of State Chairmen of the NNPP, Dada Olayinka Olabode, the forum called on the party’s Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, to without any further reconsideration, cause outright revocation of the Memorandum of Understanding he entered with those desperadoes masquerading as democrats.</p>, <p>The statement also alleged that the party’s presidential candidate in the just concluded February 25 presidential election, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso was behind the illegal onslaught against the party and its uncompromisable leaders.</p>, <p>According to the forum, “Our attention has been drawn to the desperate moves being made by the illegal National Working Committee of our party, to amend, for the 3rd time in 6 months, the constitution of our party.</p>, <p>“The impunity driven National Working Committee will stop at nothing in her continuing act of lawlessness, breach of the constitution and obvious attempt at hijacking the party by whatever illegal means available.
