New cat: It’s good many think I’m new in music industry – Burna Boy

<p>Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, has said he is not bothered by the misconception that he is new in the music industry despite releasing his debut album a decade ago.</p>, <p>DAILY POST recalls that Davido last month sparked a debate after classing Burna Boy under “new cats” alongside Rema, Asake, Fireboy DML etc.</p>, <p>Many berated the DMW head honcho for underrating Burna Boy.</p>, <p>However, in a recent chat with Apple Music’s Ebro, Burna Boy said it is a good thing some people think he is new in the industry, stressing that it makes him feel younger and want to do more.</p>, <p>He said, “It is a good thing that people think my movement is new. I love that. Because it keeps me young. It means like, I can do so much more, you know. It stretches my life span.</p>, <p>“I’m living longer than I thought I would than I even planned to, you know.”</p>, <p>The ‘Last Last’ crooner said he has always known that he would be great.</p>, <p>Burna Boy added that he does all kinds of music because he is “trying to make the world understand that music is bigger than a genre. I feel blessed that I can do different genres. It would have been a waste if I had restricted myself to a genre.”</p>
