Nina Simone (Eunice Kathleen Waymon) was born on February 21, 1933 and sadly passed away on April 21, 2003. <strong>Nina Simone</strong>, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, arranger, and&nbsp;civil rights activist. Her music spanned a broad range of musical styles including classical, jazz, blues, folk, R&amp;B, gospel and pop. She has inspired SO MANY artists and her impact can be seen in music today.</p> <p>In this episode we discuss her early life, how she got into performing and how she got her stage name. We also discuss the <a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/70308063">Netflix Film: “What Happened Miss SImone?”</a>, our reactions to the documentary, some of our favorite songs and how much Nina means to us.</p> <p>BTW - We started a new thing on the podcast where we share something with our audience that is relevant to the episode.
