<p>Sermon Speaker: Pastor Robert Pruitt </p> <p>Sermon Text: Neh. 8:1-18 </p> <p>I. God’s people cannot truly live without the reading of the Law (i.e., the Word of God). (Neh. 8:1-6)</p> <p>A. We should require the teaching of the Word.</p> <p>B. We should require that the Word be obeyed.</p> <p>Because we forget.</p> <p>Second, because younger people who may not have heard from quality </p> <p> teachers of the Law, needed to hear.</p> <p>Third, the Word of God is used by God to bring fear of Him into the hearts of </p> <p> men.</p> <p>Fourth, sinful men and women do not want to have their sins pointed out to </p> <p> them, yet they desperately need to be convinced of their sinfulness. </p> <p>C. We, as God’s people, should remain unified.</p> <p>II. God’s people cannot truly live without repentance. (Neh. 8:9)</p> <p>III. God’s people require constant revival if they are to truly live. (Neh. 8:10-18; 9:1-10:39)</p> <p>IV. God’s people require restoration when they have fallen away from following Him. (Neh. 8:17)</p> <p>V. God’s people rejoice in the Word and work of God when they repent. (Neh. 8:10-10:39)</p>
