Our host, Jillian Foster, speaks with Nadya about why she created August in order to distribute more environmentally-conscious, ethically-sourced period care products. This episode digs into that and more as Nadya shares the fundamental difference between the words “period” and “menstruation”, the impact of hormonal birth control on our cycle, eliminating exclusive terms used to describe menstruation, and how period poverty stems from deeply rooted shame.
