Musing on Psalm 118 for the Meaning of Palm Sunday - Sermon - April 10th, 2022

<p>When I was a kid growing up at 1994 Plaza Montez in San Jose, I spent a lot of time outside with the neighbor kids. The environs were safe and secure with one big exception: the bee bush. Our neighbors had a bush that teemed with little buzzing yellow and black things every spring and summer. If the tennis ball we used for our contentious games of Strike Out ended up in the bee bush, it was "Goodbye ball" 'cuz we weren't getting within 25 yards of that bush and those stingers. The ancient king at the center of the rescue story of Psalm 118 talks about bees in his recounting of how the LORD rescued him from certain disaster. What does all this have to do with Palm Sunday? You'll have to come to the worship service this Sunday at 10:00 AM to find out. If you do, I recommend that you arrive 20 minutes early for a cup of coffee and a chat with friends in our radiant new "Light Lounge."
