Description

Mom wants to each chocolate all day. She has dementia. Should I make her eat a healthy diet and just let her enjoy this simple pleasure?

“Because if you think about someone with dementia, the more options or the more choices or the busier, someone is going to be more confused. It's going to get harder for them to make a decision. So, then they just won't eat at all because there's just too much going on. So, keep it simple. If all they need is a spoon, just put a spoon there next to the bowl. If all they need is a fork, don't give them a fork, a spoon, and a knife.” Shonah Jefferson

Today Kim talks with Chef Shonah Jefferson with Chef’s for Seniors about this situation a lot of families struggle with.
