We are off to the far east and the year 1918. A young soldier sits outside a cream-coloured building; it is a warm day, so the soldier has unbuttoned his coat and lights a cigarette. He is shaken, chain-smoking nicotine to calm his nerves. A second soldier, an older man with a salt-and-pepper beard, approaches him.
