MLS 141: "Regardless of Trend" featuring Akio James with Aaron Choulai

<p>This one dropped late because a variety of reasons but boom! great and interesting stuff!</p> <p>Akio James is a percussionist, student, dj and experimental music artist. Over the last several months he's been organizing improv sessions with Japanese musicians using a 360° camera and an ambisonic microphone to share on YouTube. In between performing, he's also working towards his master's degree in computer science/ engineering with a thesis focused on creating an augmented reality polyrhythmic metronome. Really interesting stuff. We also talk about what is experimental music.</p> <p>We get into all that along side friend of the show- guest co-host, Aaron Choulai. Listeners will recognize Aaron from several episodes. Aaron is a pianist, producer/beatmaker, and head of Namboku Records.
