Miss Philadelphia

<p>The 4th Miss America pageant was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday, September 6, 1924. Ruth Malcomson competing as Miss Philadelphia came in first place against a field of 83 entrants, the largest number of competitors in contest history. We noticed the photo of Ruth circulating on the interwebs in her “Miss Philly” sash and thought it was as good a time as any that we got to know Miss America 1924.</p>
